Travel Day Tips
A few things that make a big difference on travel day:
  • The night before your flight, look up your incoming aircraft on FlightAware. If it is delayed at its origin, plan accordingly.
  • Download your airline’s app before you leave home. Gate changes, boarding alerts, and rebooking options go there first.
  • Screenshot or print your boarding pass as a backup. Phone batteries die and apps glitch at the worst times.
  • Complete your airline profile and add emergency contacts before your trip — not at the airport.
  • Sign up for flight alerts via email and text so you are never caught off guard by a change.
  • If you do not have TSA PreCheck or Global Entry, arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international.
  • Share your full itinerary — flight numbers, hotel names, and a contact number — with someone at home before you depart.
  • Pack a carry-on with anything you cannot afford to lose. Checked bags get delayed; your essentials should travel with you.
